Nechells Primary E-ACT academy is committed to creating a happy and safe environment for our children to learn. The health and safety of all our children is paramount. Parents and carers are the most important people to keep their children safe. You should always feel confident to raise concerns about your child.

The academy has a Designated Safeguarding Lead- Miss Jasmin Sanders; a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead- Mr David Camps; a Special Education Needs and Disability Co-ordinator- Mrs Sarah Mansell and two Safeguarding Officers – our Headteacher Mrs Leanne Mahony and Mr Andrew Stratford. This team have all had specialised training to know what to do when a concern is brought to them.

We ensure that children are growing up in a safe environment at home and school which enables them to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully and happily.

Talking PANTS – The Underwear Rule

Talking PANTS teaches children important messages, like their body belongs to them and they should tell an adult if they’re upset or worried.

As part of our PSHE curriculum each teacher will spend some time with their class teaching ‘The Underwear Rule’ and going through what PANTS stands for.
