improving Attendance is everyone’s responsibility
The barriers to accessing education are wide and complex, both within and beyond the school gates, and are often specific to individual pupils and families. The foundation of securing good attendance is that school is a calm, orderly, safe, and supportive environment where all pupils want to be and are keen and ready to learn.

Informing parents & attendance interventions
Parents will receive their children’s attendance every half term.
- Where our attendance target of 97% has been met, this will be printed on green card.
- Where attendance is between 90% and 97% this will be printed on orange card.
- Where attendance is below 90% this will be printed on red card.
It is essential that children attend school every day, and good attendance is recognised and rewarded. Where a child’s attendance is a concern, the following action will be taken by the academy.
Term time leave
Should you wish to take term time leave, a request form must be completed and submitted to the office. You will be requested to provide proof of flights, accommodation and emergency contact information.
Upon submitting the request form you will be invited to a meeting with our Designated Safeguarding Lead Miss Sanders to review the reason for travel. If the travel is not authorised, a penalty notice may be issued.
